When acquiring a new or existing property with a swimming pool (including a spa) your pre-purchase building inspection report may not necessarily assess the pool’s compliance, exposing you to additional and unforeseen repair costs and risks to family members or friends. Check the pre-inspection report for the inclusion of the pool barrier.
From 29 April 2016, a property that is sold with a pool or spa must have a compliance certificate or a certificate of non-compliance attached to the Contract of Sale.
From 29 April 2016, a property that is leased with a pool or spa must have a compliance certificate
attached to the Lease and the tenant must be provided with a copy of the certificate of compliance.
